About This Program:

Each week, students will participate in jump rope activities from simple rope to Double Dutch.

Double Dutch has evolved from a schoolyard game to a competitive international sport, attracting athletes from all walks of life. More than just a game, jumping rope is a fun workout that improves motor skills and will encourage healthy habits in order to deter children from a sedentary lifestyle. Jump rope activities help children develop a better sense of timing and rhythm, while learning social skills such as teamwork and waiting for your turn.

Students will find that the more they jump into this activity, the more artistic this game can become, spurring them to explore their creativity.

This activity is designed for motivated students 3rd– 8th grade. Advanced 2nd graders may join with approval.
