About This Program:
Rhythmic gymnastics is an Olympic sport that combines ballet, dance, and acrobatics with expressive movement and apparatus manipulation of either a ball, clubs, hoop, ribbon, and/or rope. This sport is perfectly balanced for developing flexibility, strength, and hand/body-eye coordination. It has been used for years in Europe as part of the physical education regime in schools.
In this class, your child will learn important social skills including discipline, following directions, respect for seniors, interacting with peers, and making reliable friends in a safe environment. Our coaches will emphasize the importance of working hard to achieve personal goals, and get their students excited about learning new skills. Gymnasts learn how to work both independently and as a team, how to win and lose gracefully, and how to persevere through adversity. The concept of “sound body, sound mind” is integral to the sport of gymnastics, which is why it produces so many successful well-rounded individuals.
